Tribute Ceremony Held on the Occasion of the 100th Martyrdom Anniversary of Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Ji Samundri
New Delhi, 20 July 2026:
On the occasion of the 100th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Ji Samundri, a revered figure of the Sikh community, a pioneer of the Gurdwara Reform Movement, and a founding member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, a solemn tribute was paid in his honour with deep reverence and respect.
On this occasion, Baba Harpal Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman of the Gurdwara Harigobindsar Welfare Trust (GHWT), while offering floral tributes to Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Ji Samundri, stated that his life stands as an enduring example of sacrifice, service, courage, and unwavering commitment to the Gurdwara Reform Movement. He said that the sacrifices made by Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Ji Samundri guided the Sikh community toward self-respect, religious freedom, and Panthic unity, for which the entire Panth will remain forever indebted.
The tribute ceremony was attended by Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Hon’ble Sardar Tarunjeet Singh Sandhu; Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta; Cabinet Minister Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa; President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sardar Harjinder Singh Dhami; Vice President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Sardar Atma Singh Lubana; General Secretary Sardar Jagdeep Singh Kahlon; and Director of Chardi Kala Time TV, Sardar Amritpal Singh Dardi, along with several religious, social, and Panthic dignitaries and a large number of devotees, all of whom paid floral tributes to the martyr.
Baba Harpal Singh Dhaliwal further said that the sacrifices of the martyrs are not merely a part of history, but an invaluable source of inspiration for future generations. He appealed to the entire sangat to resolve to follow the path of truth, service, courage, and Panthic unity demonstrated by Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Ji Samundri.
In the end, a prayer was offered for the welfare of all, and supplication was made before Akal Purakh to bless all humanity with the inspiration and strength to uphold the ideals of the martyrs.
