GURU HAR RAI SAHIB JI BIRTH ANNIVERSARY, KNOW ABOUT THE 7th GURU OF SIKHS
Guru Har Rai Ji was born on Sunday, Magh Sudi 14, 1687 B ie 5th February, 1630 AD in the house of Baba Gurditta Ji (the son of Guru Hargobind Singh Ji) and Mata Nihal Kaur Ji in Kiratpur Sahib. He is the 7th Guru of the Sikhs. Guru Har Rai Ji was married to Mata Krishan Kaur Ji and had two sons, Baba Ram Rai Ji and Guru Har Krishan Ji.
Guru Har Rai Ji was very close to their grandfather Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the sixth Guru. Guru Ji spent a lot of time with his grandfather.
Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji gave their grandson, Guru Har Rai Ji the Guruship on Chet Sudhi 13, 1695 B ie 22nd March 1638 AD at Kiratpur Sahib. Guru Har Rai Ji became the seventh Sikh Guru at the age of 8 year 1 month 17 days.
Guru Ji bathed with 101 pails of water daily. Guru Ji also wore a 101 pleated Chola (cloak). One day, young Guru Har Rai Ji was rushing to catch up with Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji in the garden. In this hurry, Their cloak swung by and hit a flower, it knocked the flower head off. Guru Sahib Ji had tears in Their eyes out of compassion. Guru sahib ji loved to environment.
Guru Har Rai Ji was very well versed in traditional medicine. Guru Ji opened a dispensary in Kiratpur to provide free treatment to people in need. Guru Ji ordered that any place providing langar should also provide free healthcare.
On the occasion of Prakash Purab of Guru Sahib, people go to Gurdwaras for prayers, Katha Kirtan. On special days, Sikh Sangat organize medical camps and provide free health services to the needy people. Apart from this, the Sikh Sangat also distributed plants and trees to save the environment.
